Hike from Torno to Palanzo

All along the lake from the fascinat-
ing small town of Torno to Palan-
zo. For centuries Via regia was the
only way to connect Como, Bellagio
and the villages on the right bank of
the western branch of lake Como,
before the Provincial road was built
at the beginning of 1900. about 15
years ago the ancient mule tracks
were restored, thus creating a splen-
did trekking route of about 36 kilo-
meters from Brunate to Bellagio. we
will hike a part of it, through woods,
to see great views of the lake and
charming little towns. in one of
these, lemna, we will have lunch
in a restaurant, and then walk to
Palanzo, where a winepress dating
from 1572 still exists.
Meeting time and place: 8:30am
in front of the ticket office of Mila-
no nord Cadorna train station. at
8:43am, train to Como lago (arr.
9:44am). at 9:55am, bus to Torno
(arr. 10:09am).
Hike: Torno (200 m), Molina (450
m), Valle Molini, lemna (500 m),
Palanzo (550 m)
lunch at ristorante san Giorgio
(lemna)
To come back: 4:00pm bus
from Palanzo to Como lago (arr.
4:39pm) and 4:46pm train to
Milano Cadorna (arr. 5:48pm).

Equipment: daily backpack, trek-
king boots and socks or good run-
ning shoes, trekking poles (if you
use them), comfortable clothes
(T-shirt, jumpsuit), warm layer, rain
jacket, 1 liter bottle of water (can-
teen), identity card

not include transport tickets and
lunch), minimum 7 participants
Ticket costs: train €5.20 each way,
bus €2.10 + €2.90
