Monte Isola, the largest inhabited lake island in Europe, is a green mountain in the middle of Lake Iseo.
To go: at 8:15am meet at Milano Centrale Railway Station, at the front of the platform of Regional train 2617 (headed to Verona Porta Nuova). At 8:25am train to Brescia (arr. 9:31am) and 9:58am train to Sulzano (arr. 10:39am). Ferry to Peschiera Maraglio (5 min).
Hike: Peschiera Maraglio (187 m.), Senzano (358 m.), Cure (450 m.), Santuario della Madonna della Ceriola (600 m.), Cure, Masse (400 m.), Olzano (340 m.), Carzano (187 m.). Picnic on the top. Possible swim in the lake at Carzano beach.
To come back: Ferry to Sale- Marasino (5 min). At 6:19pm: train from Sale-Marasino to Brescia (arr. 7:03pm) and 7:28pm train to Milano Centrale (arr. 8:35pm).
Equipment: daily backpack, trekking boots and socks or good running shoes, trekking poles (if you use them), comfortable clothes, rain jacket, sunglasses, sunhat, swimsuit and towel, 1 liter bottle of water (canteen), packed lunch, identity card
Cost: €25 (includes insurance, does not include train and boat tickets and €1.50 landing fee applied by The Municipality of Monte Isola) Minimum 6 participants
