The Promessi Sposi Trail Hike

October 29 @ 8:00 - 17:00

I Promessi Sposi (The Betrothed)
is one of the most
famous historical Italian
novels, written by Alessandro
Manzoni between
1827 and 1840. The writer
was from Milano, but had
a family house in Lecco,
where he spent most of
his childhood. The inspiration
for his novel came
from gazing at the scenery
of the mountains and the
lake. In the pages we will
read together, we will find
a perfect description of
the landscape he loved so
much. Surprisingly, it’s not
difficult to retrace those
places: even the houses of
the little hamlets, now Lecco’s
neighborhoods.
This hike is an opportunity
to walk through beautiful
places, the first urban,
then natural trails between
woods and meadows,
and at the same time, an
opportunity to see I Promessi Sposi
from the author’s eye.
