renowned collections of the Musée
d’Orsay and the Orangerie in Paris,

You will uncover Renoir’s major
Impressionist themes, such as
painting en plein air, vibrant colors,
the joyful and lively society of fin-
de-siècle Paris, and the movement of
bodies and light, leading to Cézanne’s
major breakthroughs, from the
abolition of traditional perspective
to the use of anti-mimetic colors,
which increasingly propelled late
19th-century art toward the major
upheavals of the 20th-century
historical Avant-gardes.
